Endpoint Backup v2 v1.14 – June 9, 2026

ALERT  Kaseya has temporarily changed backup policies to prevent backup conflicts.
These changes do not impact your backups. No action is required on your part.
You can see the details in the Policy Management view under Endpoint Backup.
We will remove these exclusions this week after testing confirms they are no longer needed.

In this release, we've added support for symbolic links so that we can now provide reliable restores for Windows Domain Controllers, a frequently-requested capability for IT teams managing Active Directory environments.
This release also delivers a broad set of improvements to backup reliability, agent performance, and platform security.

Enhancements

Backup and restore

More predictable backup behavior
Backups that experience issues will now resume correctly rather than unexpectedly restarting as full or incremental backups, saving time and storage.

Stronger snapshot handling
The platform now gracefully handles situations where snapshots are removed or fail mid-process, reducing the chance of incomplete backup jobs.

Recovery point list now loads reliably
Recovery points now appear consistently while browsing restore options.

Smoother Bare Metal Restore (BMR) experience
Status updates during BMR now load more consistently, so you always have an accurate picture of your restore progress.

Inclusion lists captured correctly
Selected files and folders are now captured as expected during backup policy processing in edge cases.

Agent stability and performance

Lower memory footprint
The agent now uses significantly less memory while idle, reducing its impact on endpoint performance.

Better macOS resilience
The agent can now recover gracefully when a corrupted configuration file is detected on macOS, rather than failing silently.

Registration experience
We've improved the agent registration experience for specific network and system configurations that caused difficulty in the past.
