Adding a tenant to Datto Backup for Microsoft Entra ID

Take the following steps to add a new tenant to Datto Backup for Microsoft Entra ID:

  1. Navigate to https://login.backup.net/login to log in to the Datto Backup Portal as a superuser or admin.
  2. Select SaaS Backup in the left navigation pane.
  3. Click +Customer in the top right corner.
  4. From the Platform drop-down menu, select Microsoft Entra ID.
  5. The Subscription Type drop-down will display your subscription type.
    If more than one subscription type is available, you can select which one to use.
  6. From the Organization drop-down, select the organization for the tenant you will add.
  7. From the Backup Region drop-down, select the location where your data will be stored.
  8. Click the check box to acknowledge the message about potential overage billing.
  9. Click Add to continue adding the tenant with your own Microsoft global administrator credentials.
    Alternatively, click Copy Invite Link to put a link on your clipboard that you can share with a Global Administrator of the tenant.
    The Global Administrator can use the link to grant the permissions required for backup. Once the link is used, the Global Administrator will see this confirmation that their setup is complete.

  10. To continue with your own global administrator credentials, log in to your Microsoft account.
  11. Click Accept to grant the required permissions.
  12. A banner in the lower left corner will confirm that the tenant has been added to Microsoft Entra ID Backup.

NOTE  Backups will begin a few hours after the tenant is added to Datto Backup for Microsoft Entra ID.
