Australia Datacenter Migration
Starting Monday, May 19, we will begin a phased migration to a new, state-of-the-art Tier III datacenter in Australia. This move is part of our commitment to enhancing service for our APAC partners and customers. The new facility offers improved performance, reliability, and security, ensuring faster access and even greater data protection going forward.
If you’re using any Datto Backup products with a cloud data center in Australia, you will be impacted by the migration, including:
- Datto BCDR (SIRIS, ALTO)
- Datto SaaS Protection
- Backupify
- Datto Endpoint Backup
Migration Schedule
The rollout will proceed in phases as outlined below (all dates in local Australia time):

Expected Downtime
For data residing on a node being migrated, you will experience up to one day of downtime for that specific portion of the migration. While not all clients will be affected simultaneously, you may experience outages throughout the full migration rollout.
Backup Protocol
Prior to taking any system offline, we will perform a full backup of your environment. Please note that:
- Your product(s) will not receive a backup on the day your node is migrated.
- A new backup will be initiated immediately after the new target node is online.
Active Virtualizations
To ensure data integrity, any nodes running active virtualizations at the time of migration will be postponed until those virtualizations are no longer active.
We understand the importance of uninterrupted access to your systems and are taking every precaution to make this transition as smooth and transparent as possible. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to enhance your Datto Cloud experience.
If you have any questions or would like to speak with a support representative about how this migration might impact your specific environment, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Support Team.
