Datto and Support for Clustered Shared Volumes (CSVs)

Description
Due to a technical limitation with Cluster Shared Volumes (CSVs), the Datto solution does not support backing up volumes which use the technology. While backups for systems which use a CSV implementation may work intermittently, the Datto incremental block tracker cannot function consistently with the underlying storage, leading to large incremental snapshots and backup failures.
Datto Technical Support is unable to support backup or restoration for endpoints in a CSV configuration. We can, however, support backing up a guest VM running on a Hyper-V failover cluster, as long as the guest OS itself does not access a CSV.
Regular clustered disks (sometimes used in VMware), have similar issues with incremental block tracker upon node fail overs and are also not supported.
