Error: "The Agentless System is Missing"

Issue

Agentless backups fail with the error "The agentless system is missing."

Environment

Resolution

This backup error The agentless system is missing is found in the Protect tab.

This error can be caused by the host or vCenter Server being offline. It is also caused by a change to the moRef or vm ID. To resolve a moRef or vmID change:

1. Select Configure System Settings for the affected agent in the Protect tab,
2. Under Advanced in the sidebar menu, click Reassign Agentless System.
