Adding a redundant Power Supply Unit (PSU)

This guide goes over the process of adding a redundant power supply unit to certain SIRIS 6 models. For more information on acquiring a redundant PSU for the S6-6 and S6-8 devices, please reach out to your account manager.

Environment

  • S6-6
  • S6-8

Process

  1. Power down the Datto device.

  2. Remove the power supply unit blank from the back of the device. It will be located next to the current power supply unit.

  3. Slide the PSU into the PSU bay until the it is fully seated, and the orange release latch snaps into place.

  4. Connect the power cable to the PSU and plug the cable into a power outlet.

  5. Power on the Datto device.

  6. Press F11 when the Dell splash screen appears to enter the System Setup menu.

  7. Navigate to System Setup > iDRAC Settings > Power Configuration.

  8. For the Power Supply Redundancy Policy, change selection to Power Supply Redundant.

  9. Exit and save the configuration.

  10. Power on the Datto device.
