Releases
Agent Version 3.0.30.1 - 03-31-2025
New Features:
- Datto Agent Support for Windows 10 and 11 Desktops (64 BIT only): Introduced official support for Windows 10 and 11 desktop environments, expanding backup and recovery scenarios for Endpoint Backup with Disaster Recovery Agent.
Bug Fixes:
- Datto Agent Tooltip for Paused Backup: Resolved an issue where the Agent tray tooltip did not display the estimated pause duration after backups were paused from the portal.
- Agent Uninstaller Removing All Contents in C:\Program Files\Datto: Fixed a critical bug causing the Datto Agent uninstaller to remove the entire C:\Program Files\Datto directory, affecting other Datto programs. The uninstaller now only removes DWA-related files.
- Datto Agent Installation on Unsupported OSes: Added OS validation to block installation on unsupported operating systems (e.g., Windows 7 x64), ensuring compatibility with official requirements.
- Enhanced Agent State Display in Datto Agent Tray App: Improved how backup speed and status are displayed, preventing scientific notation for speeds, reducing erratic speed jumps, increasing update frequency, and adding a “Reboot Recommended” status.
- Added cURL Timeouts to Prevent Random Failures: Implemented timeouts for all cURL requests (not just GET) in CurlHelper.cpp to avoid hanging connections and random agent failures.
- Tray Icon Missing After Datto Agent Installation: Fixed an issue preventing the tray icon from appearing until after a reboot. The icon now displays immediately upon installation completion.
- Increased Default Datto Agent Connection Timeout: Raised the default server connection timeout to 1800 seconds (from 900) to reduce backup failures in slower network environments.
- Datto Agent with Bandwidth Usage Set to 0: Resolved a problem where setting both “Idle Limit” and “In Use Limit” to 0 blocked cloud connections indefinitely. The agent now enforces a safe minimum bandwidth.
- Deadlock When ‘In Use’ Bandwidth Throttling is 0: Addressed a deadlock condition that halted backups if the ‘In Use’ throttle was set to zero, ensuring uninterrupted backup progress.
- Agent Installer Rollback Breaking Windows Boot: Fixed a rollback issue that could leave driver settings in an inconsistent state, preventing Windows from booting. Rollback now preserves driver integrity.
- Unexpected Throttling Behavior: Corrected throttling logic to prevent backups from running significantly slower than the configured bandwidth on slower connections.
- Driver Marked for Deletion After Update Rollback: Improved driver installation logic so the same driver version is not reinstalled unnecessarily, avoiding rollbacks that could remove critical drivers and lead to BSODs.

Agent Version 3.0.19.12 - 06-26-2024
Bug Fixes
- Agent Interaction with "Partially Loaded" Driver: Fixed an issue where the agent failed to back up due to interacting with a "partially loaded" driver.
Agent Version 3.0.19.9 - 06-04-2024
Bug Fixes
- Snapshot Handling: Fixed an issue causing missed file system changes and corrupted backups due to simultaneous creation of shadow copies by other software. Our agent now handles these situations better, ensuring reliable backups.
Agent Version 3.0.19.1 - 04-03-2024
Bug Fixes
- Blue Screen Prevention: Resolved an issue that could cause a Blue Screen showing 'Inaccessible Boot Device' error. Agent logic has been updated to monitor the state of the cbtfilter driver. If the filter driver has been blocked, all backups will run as a diffmerge until the installation is completed successfully and the system is rebooted. Please make the recommended adjustments in your AV/EDR solution as detailed here.
- Backup Timeout Fix: Fixed an issue where Endpoint Backup agents could time out prematurely during backup finalization, leading to failed backups.
- Restore Point Reliability: Addressed a problem in Endpoint Backup Agents that could result in unrecoverable restore points and bluescreens during screenshot verification. To ensure backup integrity, impacted assets may promote the next backup to a diffmerge to maintain data consistency after this update.
- Startup Stability for Azure Agent: Resolved a startup crash in the Datto Backup for Microsoft Azure agent.
