Volume Level Backup Control for Datto Endpoint Backup

Description
In addition to the OS drive, paired agents can backup and restore multiple volumes on the same protected device.
- Volumes may be restored directly from the Datto Partner Portal.
- Per volume selection is available Volume Protection sections of the Datto Endpoint Backup: Agent Settings in the Datto Partner Portal.
Excluded Volumes
Volumes with no mountpoints
- These are filtered out and not available to include in backups.
- They will not be visible in the Volume Level Backup Control.
Removable drives
- Examples include USB drives and other external storage.
- They are identified and treated the same as normal drives within most systems.
- Backup of removable drives is not supported.
Important Notes
- All volumes that are present at time of Datto Endpoint Backup install will be backed up by default. Manually exclude a volume if it should not be backed it up.
- The C volume may not be excluded from the backup.
- Adding or excluding volumes will only impact your billing if the underlying managed disk capacity of the protected system(s) is also changing.
Is there a limit to the number of volumes I can back up?
No, there is no pre-determined limitation on the number of volumes that can be included.
Is there a size limit to the volumes or agents that may be included?
There is no technical limitation to the Endpoint Backup volume size. Using a large amount of cloud storage may affect billing, reach out to your Account Manager for more information.
In a disaster scenario, can I pick which volumes I want to restore?
When you run a restore, all volumes that you back up will be included. We plan to add the ability to choose individual volumes in the near future.
