Granular object-level restore

This release introduces Granular Object-Level Restore, enabling organizations to restore specific Entra objects with greater precision and control without impacting existing records.

Supported object types

You can now restore individual objects for:

  • Users
  • Groups
  • Directory Roles
  • Role Assignments
  • Administrative Units

This enhancement allows administrators to recover only the required objects, eliminating the need for full directory restores and reducing the risk of unintended changes.

Restore statistics and reporting

To improve transparency and audit, restore operations now include Restore Statistics and Reporting.

After a restore completes, administrators can:

  • View a detailed breakdown of restore results
  • Download a restore report that includes:
    • Objects successfully restored
    • Objects skipped due to conflicts
    • Objects that failed to restore, with failure indicators

This report supports operational troubleshooting, compliance requirements, and post-restore validation.
