Topic
This article describes how to access a Datto appliance's interface, also referred to as the Remote Web or Device Web.
Environment
- Datto SIRIS
- Datto ALTO
- Datto NAS
Description
You can access the web interface of a Datto appliance by using one of the following methods:
IMPORTANT By default, Datto disables local network access to the Datto device UI. You can enable local access under Configuration > Global Device Settings > Local Access Control in the Datto Device Web UI.
Remote access via the Datto Partner Portal
You can remotely access your Datto appliance's interface using the Datto Partner Portal. The following steps require that you have a Partner Portal account and that your device meets all networking requirements in the Unified Backup Networking & Bandwidth Requirements article.
- Navigate to https://portal.dattobackup.com, and log in to your account.
- Click the Status tab, and then select BCDR Status from the drop-down menu.
- Look for your appliance's name. You can also search for it by using the search bar, as shown in Figure 1.
- Click the Device Web icon to initiate a remote session with your appliance.
Local access via the LAN
For security reasons, Datto disables this option by default. However, you can enable local access under Configuration ? Global Device Settings ? Local Access Control in the Datto Device Web UI. Once you have enabled this option, If you are on the same LAN as the appliance, you can bypass the Partner Portal and navigate directly to the Datto device GUI by entering the device's IP address as the destination URL in a web browser. A user password will be required to access the GUI.
Alternatively, you can navigate to http://device.dattobackup.com. This page will list all Datto appliances available on your network. Click the device you wish to access.
NOTE This method of access is useful in situations where your appliance may have obtained a new IP address, and the new address is unknown.
Accessing a Datto Device through IPMI
You can also remotely manage a Datto appliance through IPMI, a remote hardware management interface. See Getting started with IPMI for more information.
