Switching service plan

Changing service plans for a device can be accomplished through reaching out to your account manager. For more information on the retention implications of the different service plans, please refer to Datto Cloud Service Plan retention schedules .

Description

Once the service plan has been updated, you should check to confirm that the device is reporting the new plan properly and update the retention settings to better utilize the new options.

Confirm the service plan

  1. Log into the Datto Partner Portal.

  2. Select the Status tab, then BCDR Status from the drop down.

  3. Open the Device Overview page by selecting the name of the device that you changed the Service Plan.

  4. From the Billing tile, the current Service Plan is listed.

Updating the retention schedules

Once the service plan is confirmed, you may update the retention settings for the agents and shares on the device.

  1. Log into the Datto Partner Portal.

  2. Select the Status tab, then BCDR Status from the drop down.

  3. Open the Remote Web by selecting the icon under the Remote Web column of the device that you changed the Service Plan.

  4. To change the retention settings for one or more agents, select the Protect tab.

  5. For the agent you would like to update, select Configure Agent Settings.

  6. Select Cloud Backup & Retention from the navigation menu or scroll down to the Cloud Backup and Retention Policy tile.

  7. Adjust the Retention period for cloud backups to the desired amount. For more granularity on the retention periods, use the Custom tab.

  8. Once complete, select Apply cloud backup retention settings. If you would like to use these settings for all agents on the device, instead select Apply cloud backup retention settings to all.

  9. To change the retention settings for one or more shares, select the File Sharetab.

  10. For the agent you would like to update, select Configure Share Settings.

  11. Select Cloud Snapshot & Retention from the navigation menu or scroll down to the Cloud Snapshot and Retention Policy tile.

  12. Adjust the Retention period for cloud backups to the desired amount. For more granularity on the retention periods, use the Custom tab.

  13. Once complete, select Apply cloud backup retention settings. If you would like to use these settings for all shares on the device, instead select Apply cloud backup retention settings to all.
