Upgrading from Endpoint Backup v1 to v2

Module: Endpoint Backup v2

The only action you need to take to upgrade from Endpoint Backup v1 to Endpoint Backup v2 is to install the Endpoint Backup v2 agent on the protected machine.

IMPORTANT  You will have access to your Endpoint Backup v1 backups for approximately one year.

New portal

Endpoint Backup v1 and v2 use separate portals.

Endpoint Backup v1 backups remain in Datto Partner Portal.

Installation process overview

The Endpoint Backup v2 agent installer uninstalls the Endpoint Backup v1 agent.

NOTE  The Endpoint Backup uninstall can take from 15 minutes to an hour.

No reboot is required.

Endpoint Backup v2 begins tracking changes immediately after installation.

NOTE  Uninstalling the Endpoint Backup v1 agent does not delete any Endpoint Backup v1 backups.
Endpoint Backup v1 backups are available for approximately one year after upgrade to Endpoint Backup v2.
