Troubleshooting initial device registration

Description

Below are potential solutions that can resolve errors during initial device registration.

Networking issues

If the device is not checking in, the UI will display a No networking message. There may be an error that occurs and brings them back to the registration page, or the registration may appear to succeed locally, but the device still shows as unregistered via Admin & Partners. In this case, please refer to Troubleshooting check-In errors.

Reserved Username

Administrator and admin are reserved accounts and cannot be used. Attempts to use reserved usernames should result in an error indicating the issue.

Invalid Hostname

The device hostname must conform to accepted NetBIOS and DNS hostname conventions.

Unmounted homePool

Please refer to Error: homePool/home/agents/[agentName] is not mounted, cannot proceed with backup for steps to resolve this issue.
