S6-(2 through 8) drive replacement
This article explains how to physically replace the array drive, SLOG drive, and the OS drive on the S6-(2 through 8) model of devices.
NOTE Before removing any drives contact Datto technical support. There may be back end procedures needed before the drives are physically removed and replaced.

Description 
You are able to replace the array drive, SLOG drive, and the OS drive on the S6-(2 through 8). Select the drive type below to expand the steps for replacing that drive. For layout identification, refer to the SIRIS 6-(2 through 8) specifications.
The array drives on the Datto SIRIS 6 server models are hot swappable. It is recommended to pause backups while pause backups while performing a swap to limit the amount of I/O activity. Support will need to assist in the replacement of the array drive, please contact support once you are ready to begin the replacement.

Remove the faceplate of the device, using the release on the left hand side of the front of the device.

The array drive bays will be the rightmost two drive bays and will be labeled with the drive size. Press the release on the left of the drive bay to access the latch and pull the tray from the device.
NOTE Technical support can assist in identifying the problematic drive. -
Insert the new drive and tray into the empty slot.
Power down the device prior to removing the OS drive. Support will need to assist in the replacement of the OS drive, please contact support once you are ready to begin the replacement. Full replacement procedure can be found here: OS Drive Swap .

Power off and unplug the device.

Remove the faceplate of the device, using the release on the left hand side of the front of the device.

The OS drive bay will be the leftmost drive bay and will be labeled with the drive size. Press the release on the left of the drive bay to access the latch and pull the tray from the device.

Insert the new drive and tray into the empty slot.

Plug in and power on the device.
Power down the device prior to removing the SLOG drive. Support will need to assist in the replacement of the SLOG drive, please contact support once you are ready to begin the replacement.

Power off and unplug the device.

The SLOG drive bay will be the middle-left drive bay and will be labeled with the drive size. Press the release on the left of the drive bay to access the latch and pull the tray from the device.
