Recovering an endpoint

Initiating a restore

  1. Log in to UniView (login.backup.net)
  2. From the Assets Section ellipse menu, select Restore.
  3. Choose from the following:

    File level recovery - For restoring specific files and folders

    Bare Metal Recovery (BMR) - For restoring an entire machine

    Single file multi-version recovery - For restoring multiple versions of a single file

    NOTE  If your volume is encrypted with a self-managed key, you need to provide the key in order to see the decrypted file listing.

File level recovery

  1. Select the desired recovery point to restore.
  2. Select the files and folders to restore.
  3. Select the restore location.

IMPORTANT  The restore process will overwrite any files that exist.

Restore location options

Restore to original agent

Restores the files to the original machine and original file path.

Restore to alternate agent

Provides a list of agents for restore. Requires a value for Alternate Agent Path.

Restore to a new location

You specify the machine and root folder path for restore. This does create a new folder path if the specified path does not already exist. All files will be restored with their original paths inside the root folder.
Download filesDownloads your selected files in a zip folder named restore. The zip file contains all the selected files and the folder structure.

NOTE  Do not close your browser while you download your files.

  1. Click Restore.
