Issue

Integrity Verification fails with error message, "VSS quiescence failed."

Environment

• Datto SIRIS
• Datto ALTO
• Datto NAS

Cause

VSS writers on the production machine are in a failed state.

Resolution

1. Troubleshoot VSS writer errors using the following resources:

   • Resolving VSS Writer Errors In Windows XP, Windows 7, And Windows Server 2003

   • Resolving VSS Writer Errors In Windows 8, Server 2012, And Up

2. Take a new backup of the affected agent.

3. Force a new screenshot verification of the agent's latest backup point and observe the result.
